Kiwanis Hometown Christmas- Friday, December 4th.
Santa Claus is coming to Delphos
The Kiwanis Club of Delphos is holding their 8th Annual Kiwanis Hometown Christmas on Friday, December 4th at Stadium Park in Delphos.
The annual Kiwanis Hometown Christmas will be at a new location this year and will look a little different than in years past. In order to provide a safe Santa experience for the community, activities have been moved to Stadium Park. Everyone attending is asked to remain in their vehicles at all times during the event.
Businesses, organizations and individuals who want to participate in the Santa procession are asked to meet at the Delphos Jefferson Middle School parking lot at the corner of 3rd and N. Clay Streets by 6:00pm.
The Santa procession will begin at 6:30pm at Jefferson and 5th Streets and proceed down Jefferson Street to the park. The procession will continue into the park and around the park where Santa will take his place at the Gazebo. Persons wishing to watch the procession are asked to park in the parking spots at the park near the playground and football field and around the park in single file to the side of the road and remain in their vehicles. People can also park along Jefferson Street to watch the procession. Once Santa Claus is at the gazebo, the official Christmas tree will be lit and cars can then proceed around the park to see Santa from the safety of their vehicles. Vehicles can stop briefly at the gazebo to talk the jolly old man and drop off their letters. Kiwanis members will be handing out a goodie bag for each child in the vehicle as vehicles leave the park.
Costumed characters will be strolling around to talk to and wave at the kids from a safe social distance.
The Kiwanis are asking the community businesses and individuals to help light up the park for the night in Christmas decorations. Anyone wanting to participate is asked to claim an area to decorate with lights and decorations near the road that leads around the park. Electricity will not be provided so portable generators are recommended for power.
“Everyone is invited to come out to Stadium Park in Delphos on Friday, December 4th at 6:30pm for the Kiwanis 8th Annual Hometown Christmas. . . . .drive thru style.”
