Durant Amusements is Canal Days Main Street ride provider. Wrist band specials will be offered for most of the weekend. Please check the schedule of events for times and prices.
The 12th Annual Chalk Art Competition will take place on Saturday 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Pre-registration is required and there are 3 divisions. They are Mini Division: 7 years or younger, Junior Division: 8 – 12 years old and Senior Division: 13 – 18 years of age. Forms are available at the Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce and will be available at all the schools. Rules and regulations are posted on the back.
All registered teams will meet at 8:40 AM in front of Lion Clothing to be assigned a sidewalk area. The theme for this years chalk art is “Little Town, BIG Country”. All participants will receive an award and special awards will be given to the top team in each division.
The Canal Days Fishing Derby is Saturday morning from 8:00 – 10:00 in the morning. It will be held in the Miami Erie Canal behind the Post Office. The fishing derby is opened to all boys and girls, ages 0 – 13 years old. Prizes will be awarded to a boy and girl for each of these categories. BIGGEST FISH, 2nd Biggest Fish, 3rd Biggest Fish, 4th Biggest Fish, Most Fish and Smallest Fish. No pre registration is required.
KIDDIE TRACTOR PULL
The Delphos Young Farmers sponsor and run the Kiddy Tractor Pull each year. The pull will be held on Saturday with registration begins at 12 noon. Everyone 9 years old and younger can participant and awards are given away to the winners of each age group. Be there and see how far can you pull!
KIDS CREATIVITY/ACTIVITY TENT
The Kids activity tent will be busting with things to do this year and will run from 11 – 3 on Saturday. The Delphos Area Art Guild and the Delphos Public Library have teamed up to offer artfully-creative activities to stimulate the imagination of all area children who enter the kids tent.
Outside the tent area will be a giant-magic-themed banner in which kids will be able to help create a beautiful and colorful mosaic on the corner of Second and Main Street. The mosaic will be ever changing as the kids continue throughout the day to apply a rainbow of paper medium to the banner. Under the tent, activities there will be a messy learning zone, a make and take craft area where you will be able to create your own magic wand, a giant 6’ tall hands-on puzzle to make and break apart only to make again, and kids have a chance to make a artfully created top hat Chihuly style. What more could the kids want? Be sure to check it out and enjoy the D.A.A.G./Delphos Public Library art activities early Saturday afternoon during Canal Days.

New for this year’s Canal Days is the Little Miss/ Junior Miss Pageant. The Queens Pageant, event chairperson Kim Ousley has had so many little girls wanting to be little princesses in the pageant that she decided it was time to have their own little girl’s pageant.
The event will be broke down into 2 age groups. The Little Miss is ages 3, 4 & 5. And the Junior Miss is ages 6, 7 & 8 and is open to all area girls. The pageant will take place on Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 AM under the social tent with registration beginning at 9:30 AM. A 45 minute rehearsal for all participants is scheduled to start at 10 AM. There is a $10 fee to enter the pageant.
The winners of the Little Miss and Junior Miss will both receive a crown, sash and a 1 day wristband for the Canal Days amusement rides. Both will also be showcased in Sundays Canal Days parade.
All little girls participating in the pageant will receive a gift bag from the committee and sponsors and will take home a keepsake picture with the 2013 Canal Days Queen.

Bring your special pet to the Canal Days pet parade on Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 AM. This has become a huge event for Canal Days. Every child that has a pet may participate and win. They even have a costume category. The Pet Parade it is held on Second Street and Main in front of WDOH. Awards are given for Best of Show, Best Dog Division, Best Cat Division, Best Costume, Best Other.
PUTT PUTT GOLF
Stop and play Putt Putt Golf while you’re at this years Canal Days celebration. The Future Farmers of America sponsor this kid’s activity for the whole weekend. You can rent your golf clubs on Friday 4 -11, Saturday 9 – 11, and Sunday 11 – 6 to putt a quick round of golf.
