DELPHOS BOY SCOUTS
The Boy Scouts of Delphos supply Canal Days with a cleanup crew for the entire weekend of the festival. Boy scouts can be seen sweeping up food and garbage on Main Street and doing lots of community service during this time. When you see one of our finest youth sweeping, say “Thanks for a job well done”.

DELPHOS CANAL COMMISION MUSEUM
The Canal Commission Museum is opened for the Canal Days three day weekend. Manned by all volunteers the Canal Museum will be opened 4 -9 on Friday, 9 – 9 on Saturday and 12 – 5 on Sunday. Check out all our Delphos history and artifacts that have been put together by our local museum enthusiast..

DELPHOS FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Delphos Fire Department handles a vital part of Canal Days. Sunday’s Grand Parade. is one of the longest parades in the tri-county area. It takes the whole fire department to corral the participants into a lineup on parade day and they have been doing this for Canal Days for years.

Another event the fire department hosts is the waterball contest. Area firefighters come together to participate in a wet game of who can get the waterball across the opponents line. Everyone has a great time while getting soaked. If you have never watched this type of contest then you need to make a point watch at 12 noon, Saturday in front of the fire department.

DELPHOS 4 H CLUB
Our local 4H Club host a shaved ice booth during Canal Days. It’s a great fund raiser for them and they have the best shaved ice in town.

DELPHOS 4 H LIVESTOCK
Another 4H group sells hamburgers under the social tent. It seems that everyone pitches in to make Canal Days a success. Try their burgers. Their great!

DELPHOS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Delphos’ finest help with security throughout the long Canal Days weekend. Without them we could not handle the huge crowds that roam Main Street. Please thank your local policemen whenever you have the chance.

DELPHOS POSTAL MUSEUM
The Delphos Postal Museum is selling DUCKS for the Duck Races, during Canal Days, on Saturday, September 20th, to help raise money for their new location. Ducks will be for sale through out the weekend and at 3:00pm the ducks will be turned loose on the Miami-Erie Canal . The sponsors of the winning ducks will receive cash prizes. Help out the new hometown museum and buy a duck today.

DELPHOS SENIOR CITIZENS
Have a craving for something sweet and good to eat? The Delphos Senior Citizens hold their annual BAKE SALE during Canal Days. There you will be able to find something you just can’t live without. Stop by and check out the fresh baked goods supplied by the seniors of Delphos before they run out They will sell their wares in front of First Financial Bank on Main Street from 9:00 AM until sold out.

DELPHOS YOUNG FARMERS
The Delphos Young Farmers host the Kiddy Tractor Pull on Saturday afternoon. Registration starts at noon and the pull begins at 1 p.m. The kiddy pull located on Second Street will challenge your son or daughter to the limit. See if they what it takes to take the full pull over the line.

DOUBLE A TRAILERS
Even the locals trailer sales donates equipment for Canal Days. Trailers are needed for various uses during the weekend and Double A always helps us out. The judges trailer for the grand parade, and if we ever need a larger stage for entertainment, comes from this local establishment. It’s obvious that living in a small community helps when it comes to donations equipment.

FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
The financial institutions of Delphos will be helping with Canal Days GRAND PRIZE DRAWING ticket sales. The 1st ticket winner will receive $4000. 39 additional prizes are given away also. Tickets are $25 each and are sold at all of these locations.

FIRST FEDERAL BANK
The Canal Days ARTFEST is a juried and judged show for regional artists held in the First Federal Bank lobby. Entries include original artwork/paintings of all media, sculpture, pen & ink drawings, handmade jewelry and pottery.

Opening night reception will be Friday, September 19 from 6 – 9 p.m. and the public is invited to meet and greet the artists. Saturday the exhibit will be open from 10 – 7, Sunday from 1 – 5. The ArtFest entries will remain up until the end of September during business hour only for extended viewing.

FIRST FINANCIAL BANK
The First Financial Bank is hosting their 23rd Annual Art Exhibit. Local artists may display their works and show off their talent. This show is not judged you and may call the bank for more information about entering your work. The public is welcome to view the exhibit and.the show will be opened during extended hours for Canal Days. Friday from 9 -8, Saturday 9 -8, and Sunday from 12 – 5.

FUTURE FARMERS of AMERICA
Our community FFA group put in some long hours during Canal Days with the Putt Putt Golf. Try out the farm themed golf on Friday evening 4 – 11, Saturday from 9 – 12 and Sunday from 11 – 6. Located on Second and Main they have the prime location for this great kids activities.. On Saturday 10 – 3 the FFA bring in the Small Animal Farm for children of all ages. You are able to get up close and personal with the cute little farm animals. Check them out on Saturday..

GERDEMAN TV
Another community business, Gerdeman TV, supplies the social tent with a big screen TV during Canal Days. Football games won’t be missed because they can be viewed all weekend right in the middle of all the activities. Make sure you check it out and cheer for your favorite team.

LEAR’S MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY
Martial Arts is Sean Lear’s passion and during Canal Days he shows the public his skills, Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at the intersection of Second and Main. Lear’s business offers several types of lessons for young and old alike.

LIMA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Thanks to Lima Memorial Hospital, Canal Days has its own first aid station. If you are injured or got stung by a bee, go the chamber of commerce office and they will fix you up as fast as they can.

OPTIMIST CLUB OF DELPHOS
Our local Optimist Club host the weekend Bingo Tent and Pancake and Sausage Breakfast. The group spends two days of the weekend entertaining the bingo crowd and feeding the early morning risers. The Bingo tent is situated on Delphos Ace Hardware’s north parking lot on the corner of Third and Main. If you are 18 or older, you can play bingo for cash prizes at $.25 a game. Where else can be entertained for that?

The Optimist Breakfast is held Saturday morning from 7 – 11 a.m. before bingo begins. You can eat in or carry out and the cost is $6.00 for all you can eat pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee.

PITSENBARGER & BELL AUTO SUPPLY
For years Pitsenbarger/Bell Auto Supply have sponsored the Canal Day’s Tractor Show. It is held on Saturday from 9 – 4 with CASH awards given away at 4:00 sharp. This is Pitsenbargers way of thanking all area farmers for their business and it’s a great way for everyone to show off their tractor. Call Pitsenbargers Supply for more information.

SIDNEY ELECTRIC
Employees from Sidney Electric volunteer their time to wire up Canal Days social tent and food vendors. Thanks to our local electricians someone is on call all weekend for any problems that may arise. Its businesses like this that makes our community great.

ST. RITA’S MEDICAL CENTER
Each year St. Rita’s Medical Center hold free health screenings for anyone who stops by their tent. They are usually located on Second Street across from Lehmann’s Furniture. Volunteers will be doing screenings on Friday night from 5 – 8 and Saturday from 10 – 2. Don’t miss your chance to take advantage of this free service they so graciously offer.

TIME WARNER CABLE
Canal Days is always the 3rd weekend of September and we all know that football season is at its’ prime. Thanks to Time Warner Cable we can view the game and not miss a thing during Canal Days.
