AMUSEMENT RIDES
Durant Amusements is Canal Days host ride provider. They will offer wristband promotion on Friday, Sept. 19 from 6 -10PM. Check schedule of events for ride times.

COSI on WHEELS
COSI of Columbus will be present at this years Canal Days to engage children in the wonders of science. Participants will be able to explore 10 different hands-on activities station for the program “It’s Simply Chemistry”. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 12 noon to 4 PM in front of the Post Office surrounded by many other children’s activities. The Jr. Optimist have volunteered to help this year so the kids are able to get the full objective of each experiment. Come and check out these simple tasks and create your own COSI Super Slime to take home as a souvenir.

FISHING DERBY
The Canal Days FISHING DERBY is Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8:00 – 10:00 AM. It will be held in the Miami Erie Canal behind the Post Office. The fishing derby is opened to all boys and girls, ages 0 – 13 years old. Prizes will be awarded to a boy and girl for each of these categories:

BIGGEST FISH, 2nd Biggest Fish, 3rd Biggest Fish, 4th Biggest Fish, Most Fish and Smallest Fish. No pre registration is required.

Sponsors for this event are Grothouse Plumbing & Heating, Delphos Bass Club, City Feed and Seed and ALCO.

KIDDIE TRACTOR PULL
The Delphos Young Farmers sponsor and put on the Kiddy Tractor Pull each year. The pull will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, starting at 12 noon. Registration will take place at 11 and this event is located on Second Street between the Post Office and AFLAC Regional Office.

There are four divisions for the tractor pull. They are: 4 years and under, 5 year olds, 6 & 7 year olds and 8 & 9 year olds. Awards are given in each division.

PET PARADE
Bring your special pet to the Canal Days pet parade on Saturday, Sept. 20 beginning at 11:00 AM. Vonderwell Kennels sponsor this huge event for the kids and it is held on Second Street and Main. Awards are given for Best of Show, Best Dog Division, Best Cat Division, Best Costume, Best Other.

POSTER DESIGN CONTEST
The AtrFest is sponsoring a poster contest for Canal Days. Students from the area schools are able to enter an original design with any art medium and no limit on colors. Posters should be turned into art teachers or dropped off at the chamber office at 310 N. Main Street. Winers from each age level will receive prizes for best of show, 1st place, 2nd and 3rd place. The poster contest is sponsored by the Miami Erie Council for the Arts and Canal Days.

PUTT PUTT GOLF
Stop and play Putt Putt Golf while you’re at this years Canal Days celebration. The Future Farmers of America sponsor this kids activity for the whole weekend. They will be renting golf clubs on Friday 4 -11, Saturday 9 – 12, and Sunday 11 – 6 to putt a quick round of golf.

SIDEWALK CHALK ART
The 8th Annual Chalk Art Competition will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9:00 AM – 10:15AM. Pre-registration is required and there are 3 divisions. They are Mini Division: 7 years or younger, Junior Division: 8 – 12 years old and Senior Division: 13 – 18 years of age. Forms are available at the Delphos Area Chamber of Commerce and rules and regulations are posted on the back.

All registered teams will meet at 8:40 AM in front of Lion Clothing to be assigned a sidewalk area. The theme for this years chalk art is “ This Is our Town, this is our Community, this is our Canal Days” All participants will receive an award and special awards will be give to the top team in each division.

SMALL ANIMAL FARM
The Delphos FFA also sponsor a small animal farm for the kids on Saturday morning. After a quick round of golf stop over and check out the farm animals located right beside the Post Office. You can see and pet the cute little cows, sheep, rabbits, etc. The farm animals will be on display from 10 – 3, Sept. 20.
