WATERBALL CONTEST

The Delphos Fire Department handles a vital part of Canal Days, the grand parade. We call it grand because it is one of the longest parades in the tri-county area. From start to finish is usually two hours with well over a hundred entries. It takes the whole fire department to corral the participants to lineup and make sure the parade runs smooth.

Another event the fire department hosts is the waterball contest. Area firefighters come together to participate in a wet game of who can get the ball across the opponents line. Everyone has a great time while getting soaked. If you have never watched this type of contest then you need to make a point watch Saturday at 12:30 in front of the fire department. Don’t forget to bring a rain coat in case you get in the line of fire. New this year, the Water Ball Contest is open to the public. Five person teams are required and the cost is $50 per team to participate. Register today at the chamber for the only water sport offered during Canal Days!
